It's been over a month since I last blogged and a lot has happened. On the day I last posted, literally as I was posting to Facebook, I saw news that a friend to whom I'd been close for many years (though not recently) had passed away. Her death still hurts- not only because she is gone, but also for her hurting family, and due to her cause of death-cancer. Her diagnosis came well after mine and hers was quite aggressive. She is home now. I know that she is praising God with a heart of perfection and fellowshipping with Jesus. Other friends have lost loved ones and are hurting as well. We've celebrated several birthdays in the family, including the first birthday for my twin nephews and my big 50. I am hoping spring will bring not only the warmer weather, but also less Covid, because I'd like to have a birthday party cookout with games, dancing, and karaoke. That's my dream, anyway.
Chemo is still making me ill for a couple of days, rather than just one. My blood pressure is up, too. I am very confident stress is the culprit. It is lessening now so I hope to see better days. My left leg has also been bothering me and has continued to worsen. I had an MRI to make sure this wasn't cancer related. It didn't seem to be. I had my 3 month CT scan yesterday, which confirmed the hip and thigh area are stable in terms of bony lesions with no fractures. Next up will be an orthopedist, I suppose. The rest of my scan looks stable, as well, according to the Nurse Practitioner who got my results. I see my oncologist this coming Tuesday, so we'll talk through the results in more detail then, and determine next steps for my leg.
I have really been into the Olympics this year, since Katie has been watching. We tend to bond over our viewing. I love watching with my kiddo (she just turned 24! :-0 ). I started a new story that I haven't worked on too much because, well, Olympics. I'm going to start a new doll once the games are over. I got new ideas for hair from a couple of books I am ready to try out. Finally, Katie and I have been binging all the Spiderman movies, and we are one away from No Way Home. They've been fun, but I wouldn't have done this if Maguire and Garfield weren't in NWH. And if NWH didn't tie into Dr. Strange so heavily. I really like the Dr. Strange character and Benedict Cumberbatch's work. Jim and I recently watched "The Messenger", a movie about Greville Wynn, businessman, who was utilized by the UK government to deliver messages from a Minister in Poland's government regarding Russia. He was captured and spent time in a Polish prison but was later released when the Poles couldn't find evidence showing he did this work knowingly. Based on information that passed through his hands, Russia moved weapons away from Cuba, from which they were prepared to launch. That was a great movie. I also loved "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy." And I am a HUGE fan of "Sherlock." I still miss my Dr. Strange doll I lost in Atlanta. :'-(
