I have started on oral chemo. It is definitely better feeling than the infusion. I'm having some trouble taking my cocktail of meds at the right time, though. The two rounds of chemo pills have to be 12 hrs apart with food, I can't take my 2x a day antacid within 2 hrs of chemo pills, my thyroid pill is supposed to be taken 30 minutes before meals. Ugh! This makes my head spin. I was taking meds at breakfast, dinner, and bedtime. I've had to add lunchtime, but I'm not good at remembering those. I have a pill holder, but I can't put chemo pills in it. The chemo has to stay in it's bag, which no one else can touch. I must wash my hands thoroughly after taking the chemo and after using the restroom. I also I must flush the toilet 2x. I didn't realize switching was going to lead to so much thinking and memory- no wonder I have chemo brain!
I had the endoscopy with biopsy and the results are in...........NO CANCER CELLS DETECTED IN MY STOMACH- AT ALL!!!! THIS IS THE SECOND TUMOR THAT HAS TOTALLY DISSOLVED, leaving only the lesions in the bones. The first tumor had been pressing on my kidneys. They took their sweet time, but they've now shrunk down back to normal size. I do have inflammation in my stomach from the meds and a large scar. If the CT scans that come up in Oct and Jan show no progression in my bones, my oncologist mentioned I MIGHT be able to take a break from chemo for a while! My original prognosis, which was based on statistics for the normal progression of stomach cancer (my progression hasn't been normal) was for a year and a half. That would be in January- which could coincide with the chemo break! MY GOD IS SO GOOD!!
Psalm 145 1
I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.
Psalm 34:1-7
1 I will extol the Lord at all times;
His praise will always be on my lips.
2 I will glory in the Lord;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
3 Glorify the Lord with me;
let us exalt His Name together.
4 I sought the Lord, and He answered me;
He delivered me from all my fears.
5 Those who look to Him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
6 This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
He saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who [reverently] fear Him,
and He delivers them.
Psalm 92:1-8
1 It is good to praise the Lord
and make music to your Name, O Most High,
2 proclaiming Your love in the morning
and Your faithfulness at night,
3 to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
and the melody of the harp.
4 For You make me glad by Your deeds, Lord;
I sing for joy at what Your hands have done.
5 How great are Your works, Lord,
how profound Your thoughts!
6 Senseless people do not know,
fools do not understand,
7 that though the wicked spring up like grass
and all evildoers flourish,
they will be destroyed forever.
8 But You, Lord, are forever exalted.
